April 3rd Town Hall Meeting

Moving forward together

One thing is clear from all the conversations in past months: the number of congregations – the number of people – committed to continuing to serve homeless families with children through Family Promise of Lower Bucks.

Please join us for an all-hands “Town Hall” meeting on Tuesday, April 3 at 7:00 PM to hear exciting news of our progress toward reopening. The meeting will be held at Woodside Presbyterian Church, 1667 Edgewood Rd., Yardley, PA 19067.

Just a few highlights …

  • Funding: Based on the success of our recent promotion of $10 on the 10th and match campaign we reached our target goal of the amount of funds needed to reopen.
  • Day Center: Delta Community Supports has continued to hold space available for FPLB at the Woodbourne Road location under a long-term, reasonable cost lease plan.
  • Congregations: Coordinators and clergy have continued to provide feedback and identified several key areas for operational improvement going forward. A majority of the congregations from our network plan to continue as host/support congregations and we will gain a few new congregations as well.

The need for the type of round-the-clock support offered by Family Promise has not diminished as homelessness, particularly among children, continues to be a serious issue in our community. According to Bucks County’s 2018 Point in Time count 31% of those identified as homeless were children under the age of 18.
