Family Promise Committee Update

Happy Fall!

FPLB has made significant headway since the August Committee Kick-Off meeting. The committees are excited about what has been accomplished thus far and are happy to share an update with you to ensure that you are aware of the progress to date, and can share in our enthusiasm as we move the FPLB organization forward.

Committee Updates:

Fund Development Committee – The development of fundraisers and applying for grants are the top priorities of the fund development committee. While FPLB has a significant amount of funds available, we need to raise an additional $50,000 by December 31, 2017. If you or anyone you know has grant writing experience, we have need of your expertise. Please contact the Chair of the Fund Development Committee, Robert Beaven ( Stay tuned for details about upcoming fundraisers and how you can support. Additionally, the FPLB $10 on the 10th campaign is still up and running, and allows you to automate your giving to support every month. Thank you to those who have already begun to donate. We appreciate you! If you are interested in learning more about this sustainable giving campaign, see details on our Website:

If you prefer to donate via check, our address is: Family Promise of Lower Bucks, 1700 Woodbourne Road, Levittown, PA 19057. Also, please check to see if your company has a matching gift program. FPLB may be on it! Thank you in advance for your generosity and continued support!

Leadership Committee – Two new board members joined the FPLB Board in October. We are happy to welcome them to the team. The more hands we have, the more we can do! The committee continues to reach out to the community for others interested in helping to move the organization forward. If you would like to join the FPLB Board, you may contact a current Board Member, and we will contact you with further details and instructions.

Congregational Committee – Understanding that congregations and volunteers in our community are the heartbeat of FPLB, the congregational committee continues to cultivate and nurture relationships by keeping close communication with our network of Host and Support Congregations. Committee members have begun to make calls and visits to clergy and coordinators at our partner congregations and are happy to report that they are still on board and excited to be a part of the FPLB family. The committee is also working on recruiting additional Host and Support Congregations in an effort to further expand the network, and will be hosting a general meeting for coordinators in mid-November.

Communications Committee – The migration of the contact database has been completed and updates to the FPLB Website and Facebook Page are ongoing. The committee is small and needs your help. Writers and those with Web design and/or social media expertise are welcome. If you are interested in joining the Communications Team, please contact Tracey Dwight at

Family Promise of Lower Bucks Lives On!

We are thrilled to announce that after consulting with Family Promise National Headquarters, Host/Supporting Congregations and Volunteers, the decision to dissolve the Lower Bucks Chapter of Family Promise has been reversed and alternatively, we have taken a hiatus from serving families in order to restructure and reorganize.

We could not have done this without YOU, our faithful supporters and volunteers.

The Bucks County community showed up in record numbers to find out what they could do to save our beloved Family Promise program and because of your passion and willingness to support, in a few short months we will be able to resume providing much needed assistance to families in transition.

In recent weeks a new Board of Trustees was installed and they are in the process of establishing new leadership and the necessary committees to help move the organization forward. Additional Board Members, Committee Members, Donors/Sponsors and Volunteers are needed to enable us to provide an optimal level of assistance to all of the families we have the privilege to serve.

If you are interested in serving on the Board of Trustees or working on one of the committees that are critical to ensuring the success of Family Promise of Lower Bucks, we want to hear from you.

Please email us at and include your name, email address, contact number and the capacity in which you desire to serve and we will follow up with you to discuss how you can contribute to the revitalization of this amazing and extraordinary program.

It is wonderful to know we have a vibrant community standing with us as we forge ahead and we look forward to our continued partnership. Stay tuned for timely updates on our progress!

$10 on the 10th.

Running Family Promise takes all of us and more. Even though it exists through the goodness of many, many volunteers and the hours that they devote to this mission, Family Promise needs money throughout the year for operating expenses.

Family Promise is funded by donations from individuals/community organizations and private (non-government) grants. We are continually searching for new ways to keep an income flowing in order to continue and grow the program.  How can you help? Well, if you know of any grants or fundraising possibilites please share your ideas and successes. Contact

Another big  way of helping is to be part of our $10 on the 10th program. Join others who have decided to have a few dollars come out of their accounts monthly. EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!!! If you could just have a small amount taken out monthly automatically and enough of others like you did the same we could easily continue and improve what we do for the homeless here in our area. Spread the word. So, instead of going out for lunch just one day a month you put that toward ensuring this program will continue. Any amount is a help in the right direction.
