Family Promise of Lower Bucks Installs Board of Trustees…

Family Promise of Lower Bucks a new non profit in Lower Bucks County Pennsylvania has established an esteemed Board of Trustees.

About three years ago a small group of people discovered that the number of homeless children right here in Lower Bucks had reached a staggering number: over 400 children were registered as homeless in just seven local school districts.. Try to imagine having to deal with the pressures of being a child while dealing with peer pressure, issues of self esteem and life changes. Add to the mix not knowing where you will sleep each night, whether you will be warm enough, whether there will be enough food. It’s heartbreaking!

This initial small group, all from local faith based congregations, found out about a national organization with over 170 affiliates that were using a very successful plan to provide not only housing and meals, but also support in areas such as parenting, budgeting, job interviewing, etc. . This program gives families a place to be together while they are assisted by a program director in a structured program toward self sustainable living and financial security.

A local chapter was created: Family Promise of Lower Bucks, a 501(c)(3). The first full Board of Trustees, consisting of religious leaders, business leaders and community volunteers has been established and will be overseeing the operation of the program. Members of the new Board are:

Bryan Allen, Bensalem, PA

Lori Caporale, Langhorne, PA

Diane Casey, Newtown, PA
